"The Duterte-Cayetano camp is bouyed up by another warm gathering, this time in Vigan, Ilocos Sur - part of the vaunted Solid North," his representative Peter Laviña said in an announcement on Thursday.
Likewise present amid the gathering were officeholder Governor Ryan Singson and Vigan Mayor Eva Marie Singson-Medina.
Duterte was joined by Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano who represented her husband and the mayor's running mate, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.
"We understand the veteran Chavit left a purposeful retirement from politics to meet Duterte and Mayor Lani. We are exceptionally grateful for the Ilocano accommodation and warm welcome," Laviña included.
The Singson patriarch already communicated his backing to the office of Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

Marcos, son and namesake of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, had served as governor, vice governor and congressman representing Ilocos Norte.
Singson's bailiwick is a piece of the supposed Solid North, a local coalition vote that incorporates the Ilocos area, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Every one of the territories in these districts have an aggregate number of 5,777,889 enlisted voters for the 2016 elections.
"Despite political hues and affiliations, Duterte is extending his arms to everybody as he wishes to bring together the Filipinos and the entire country... What is critical for us is to achieve everybody and break the mass of the Solid North for Duterte," Laviña said.
Before making a beeline for Vigan City, Duterte went by vote-rich Pangasinan region, which has an aggregate number of 1,705,260 enrolled voters in 2016.
A month ago, Duterte likewise went by Laoag City.
