American online news aggregator The Huffington Post posted a column on Wednesday which tackled the issue of extrajudicial killings as being linked to Duterte, and that the man has done so much than just give a shoot to kill order.
Writer Elna June said that she has seen media outlet across the world criticize Duterte in his first 60 days in office.

The man is only delivering what he promised in his campaigns.
Repeatedly he told the authorities to do their jobs but shoot when their lives are put in danger. This has resulted to 1,700 deaths and 700,000 surrenders.
“While that 1,700 number seems staggering, I am absolutely certain it is small in comparison to families saved from destruction, or the impact to communities that will recover as a result of gaining back productive citizens.” June wrote.
She said that this would help the country redeem itself.
“The 700,000; that is the story for us.”
Her post also recognized the other accomplishments that the Duterte administration has attained for the country such as the 911 system that allows citizens to be responded to quickly after an emergency and the 8888 hotline that caters to citizens’ complaints against government agencies.
The post also praised Duterte for eliminating corrupt presidentiall appointees and bringing forth new construction and infrastructure projects through investments from giants China and Japan.
“we see a moment in history where our nation has a chance to purge the corruption that evolved and rooted over the last decades through a leader who unequivocally refuses to compromise and on so many levels represents the humility, dreams, and aspirations of the common people.” The post read. MJM
