Senator Leila de Lima questioned President Rodrigo Duterte’s alliance with drug lords, despite the ongoing war on illegal drugs that he himself declared.
Justice Vitaliano Aguirre III was the one who presented the high-profile inmates as witnesses to the House committee on justice.
“Ano yun? Change of heart?
Duterte has insisted that the war against illegal drugs will not cease until the last drug pusher has been punished.
However, De Lima is adamant on denying that she has received drug payoffs during her term as Justice Secretary during the Aquino administration. She said that the witnesses were pressured or tortured to speak ill about her.
